If you grew up in the 20th Century, you’ve probably already been sining to the Sherman Brothers’ songs — maybe without even knowing it! The succesful brothers, Richard and Robert Sherman have created many classic Disney songs and other musical numbers that would get stuck in your head for the rest of the day ( believe me, I know). They duo has created songs for Mary Poppins, the Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, “It’s a Small World (After All)”, ” Tiki Tiki Tiki Room”, Winnie the Pooh, The Tigger Movie, and other movies and Disneyland attractions.
Now, there is going to be a documenty released in 2009 about the brothers! It is called The Boys, after their nickname. I can tell it’s going to be good.
I just finished the book Mouse Trap: Memoirs of a Disneyland Cast Member by Kevin Yee. Honestly I give it four and half stars out of five. It was really good. It was great to see a different perspective of the park. The book was bascially about what it is like to work at Disneyland, and the all the memories and great expieriences that come with it. I highly recommend it, and it was really hard to put it down! The book can be bought at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble, and also Borders. Check it out!
This summer is going to be awsome from what I can tell. At D23, there is an article that talks about the new nightime features that are coming soon. Including:
A new Fantasmic, complete with a new dragon (which had to be helicoptered in to the park), and Ursula will be introducing her eels Flotsam and Jetsam! There will even be a new Crocodile in the Peter Pan scene, who even snaps at Captain Hook!
A new fireworks show called Magical. Tinkerbell will be hosting it, while she is in the air. With her magic wand she will be waking up numerous characters, and there is said to be a fight between Flora and Merriweather (from Sleeping Beauty) of their two colors pink and blue!
Disney’s Electrical Parade is done after refurbishment! (in DCA)
A new dance club will open in Tomorrowland called the TLT Dance Club. It will have a DJ and everything!
Pixie Hollow will open at nightime for Pixie Hollow Enchantment. It is going to be super cool! Here is a quote from D23:
“Nearby ponds will come to life in iridescent light shows. Pixie dust cascades across the landscape and radiates down into the pond. Even the water becomes enchanted as playful fountains spring to life, water jets perform with whimsical precision, and sparkling strobes shine throughout Pixie Hollow. For those who haven’t visited the Hollow before, as guests enter Tink’s domain, they will notice the flora around them growing bigger and bigger — as they shrink to the size of a fairy. ”
This summer is going to be rockin’! For the full article check out this link!
This weeks Silly Symphony is a black and white one. I love this one. It is called Bugs In Love, and was released October 1, 1932. It’s pretty old but very cute. The storyline is very origanal. It is about some bugs that live in a garbage dump, but have transformed the junk into a amusment park. But danger comes when a hobo crow comes and is hungry! In the end, it’s very cute! Enjoy!
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has now opened (I’m a little late, but at least I’m still posting it!). It has taken the place of the Once Upon a Time shop. It is on the right when you first walk in the castle and is across the Peter Pan ride. This is what MiceChat says about the shop:
Retail Portion is now open
Sells princess costumes, t-shirts, and accessories as did the previous store
Salon-portion is where parents can purchase makeovers for their princesses-in-training
The store looks super cute and will be perfect for princesses like myself, and looks like every little girl will have a ball in there. Get it? Ball? Like Cinderella’s Ball? I crack myself up. Oh and thanks MiceChat for the pictures!
